This Weeks Project

TeaCup-PC

TYPE; TEA CUP CARD WITH SPOON AND TAG
TIME; 1 1/2 HOURS IF YOU FOLLOW THE WHOLE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS;

2 x A4 sheets card stock in white
1 x Print and cut cup kit – click here to buy
Piece of silver mirror card 15 cms x 4 cms (6” x 2”)

Double-sided tape or glue
Small piece of ribbon
Ultra Think Embossing Enamel (UTEE)
Transparent stamping pad
Heat gun

RECIPE;

  1. Cut out the base tea cup card blank from white card and set to one side – you may want to print the inside message of your choice before cutting out
  2. Cut out the spoon from silver mirror card
  3. Cut out the print and cut tea cup, saucer and tag, attach the tea cup to the saucer using double-sided tape or glue
  4. Using your transparent stamping pad, stamp the whole of the cup and saucer, try to ensure you don’t miss any bits
  5. Sprinkle cup and saucer with embossing/glazing powder
    TOP TIP - it is a good idea to place the cup and saucer on a large piece of paper to do this, it makes it easier to pour the excess back into the jar.
    Shake off excess powder and return to jar
  6. Use your heat gun to gentle heat up the powder until it melts and forms a glaze
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 until you have an even coverage and the surface is shiny (It took me two coats)
  8. You may need to leave the glazed pieces once dry under a heavy object overnight if the sides have curled/distorted
  9. Attach the glazed cup and saucer to the card blank using double-sided tape or glue
  10. Thread ribbon through the cup handle, around the spoon handle and through the hole in the tag and tie in a bow

  4. Thanks Anne, one of the joys of card making is taking a piece of plain card and making something you feel proud of :-)
