Why Change Your Name

For many years I have been designing and selling my products under the name Lavenders Blue Design, so why change the name?

There are quite a number of companies with very similar names in the same market. Also we have gone through a process of defining the ethos of the company and what it stands for, the new name better reflects that ethos.

Last year I moved house, not to any ordinary house, but to a hidden house in the middle of a wood in France, hence the new name 'La Maison Secret'. The house has no mains electricity or water, our plan was to stay here for six months to see what living off-grid was like. After a number of months trying to get use to the vagaries' of solar panels, I realised that if we were to stay here I could no longer work the way I use to. Before we moved here I used the computer for almost all of my design work and electric cutting machines.

Now I have gone back to basics, crafting all my products by hand. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction to take an idea and then produce a physical item from that idea, inspiration comes from all around me, the tranquillity of our surroundings has had a great impact on my imagination and inspires me constantly.
